June 22nd, 2008 - Glen on America: The Dream’s Not Over
This week, Glen reads some incredible statistics from a speech given by Pat Toomey which illustrates just how prosperous the last 25 years have been in America.
Then, Glen interviews Mayor Lou Barletta, candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 11th District. Glen asks Lou about his stance against illegal immigration, and what he decided to do about it. Glen concludes that we need to be a country of legal immigrations, and gives Lou his full endorsement.
Glen then talks in-studio with Brandon McGinley, an intern with Meakem Becker Venture Capital, about this last month’s rise in unemployment. Glen and Brandon explain that the minimum wage hurts the people it was meant to help, and Glen underlines the point with some striking numbers.
Glen also relays a listener story about a talk between a father and a daughter to underscore the principle of self-reliance, and talks about “Obamanomics” and its similarities to the policies of the 70s. Glen concludes that people who care about their 401Ks should vote for John McCain.
