Only one week into the August recess, Democratic Representatives have received more than an earful at town hall forums across the country from Americans who oppose a single-payer healthcare system. Instead of listening to our wishes and promising to vote against the current reform bill, Democrats are instead belittling all who oppose them on this issue. They have also called on Unions and ACORN members to aggressively oppose our point of view

In Georgia, Democratic Rep. David Scott (D-13th District) loses his temper at a town hall meeting — and yells at a local Doctor — over healthcare reform.

In St. Louis, MO several hundred people attended a meeting hosted by Democratic Representative Russ Carnahan.

• 6 people who supported the Democrats healthcare reform bill were arrested
• Kenneth Gladney, black Conservative activist was assaulted by some of the people who were arrested.
• Gladney was handing out “Don’t Tread on Me” flags when the assault took place. He was sent to the emergency room with injuries to his… knee, back, elbow, shoulder, and face.
  
• Gladney stated, “It just seems there’s no freedom of speech without being attacked”

In Houston, TX , 90 physicians attended town hall meetings in The Woodlands and expressed fear over the cost and effectiveness of the health care reform bill.

In Tampa, FL,  1,500 people attended a town hall meeting featuring Democratic State Rep. Betty Reed and U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor. See also, “Castor heartened by reaction to town hall tumult.“

• The event was organized by Reed, the Services Employees International Union, and Organizing for America (the liberal group that grew out of the Obama presidential campaign)
• The event exploded into a near riot.
• People were assaulted, video equipment damaged.
• Lawmakers inside were met with shouts of “You work for us!” Tyranny! Tyranny” “Read the bill”
• Rep. Castor was escorted to her car by police
• No arrests were made, but conservatives were assaulted by “national healthcare” supporters..
  • Randy Arthur was slammed against the wall by union thugs when he tried to enter the townhall meeting with his wife. He suffered minor injuries to his chest and a ripped shirt
  • Barry Osteen, opponent of ObamaCare, was physically assaulted by Karen Miracle, supporter of Obama’s healthcare reform, during an exchange between Osteen and Miracle’s Husband.

In Detroit, Michigan,  Democratic Representative John Dingle held a town hall meeting which attracted both supporters and opponents.

• Dingell emphatically stated that the healthcare bill does not use taxpayer funds for abortion. However…
  • On July 31, 2009 – Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich) and Rep. Joseph Pitts (D-Pa) authored a pro-life amendment that would bar abortion from the healthcare bill. They succeeded in getting bi-partisan support for this bill.
  • BUT, a second vote was later taken and this amendment was overturned. Now federal money can be used to fund abortions.

In Dallas, Texas, AARP reps. walk out of ‘listening session’ in Dallas, they didn’t want to hear any opposition
