Earth approaching sunspot records
Between July and August, 51 consecutive days passed without a single sun spot. “This is 1 day short of tying the record of 52 days from the early 1900s,” according to Corey Jones of the Topeka Capital-Journal.
It is hard to ignore the recent cooling trends experienced in the United States and around the world. More and more scientists are recognizing the probability that sun-spot activity (or lack thereof)–and not CO2–is the leading cause of these global temperature changes. Even the liberal New York Times acknowledged earlier this summer a connection between solar activity and temperatures.
