MSM Bias in MA election night speeches?
This from johnnydollar.us
During Tuesday night’s coverage of the Massachusetts special election, CNN and MSNBC aired only a fraction of the Republican candidate’s speech. Fox News Channel aired both candidates’ speeches in their entirety.
The “Massachusetts Miracle” has happened. In one of the bluest states in the union (only 12% of the voters are registered Republican), Republican Scott Brown has become the first GOP Senator elected since Republican Ed Brooke was elected to his second term in 1972.

You really expected CNN and MSNBC to cover the teabagger as he droned on for 27 minutes? By the way, here are some more neat charts comparing MSNBC’s earthquake coverage with Fox’s. http://mediamatters.org/research/201001140029
Frank,
Are you saying that you don’t expect CNN and MSNBC to be balanced? 26 minutes may be a bit longer than you expected, but it does seem important to cover the speech, or at least most of it, especially since Coakley’s concession was covered in its entirety.
Thanks for the link though. It’s comparing apples with oranges, since the chart above shows all three networks covering the complete concession, but only one network covering Brown’s acceptance… and I think that is the point. I do know that CNN kept switching to Haiti last evening during the elction coverage. These charts are refering to the day that the earth quake happened. I remember that there were few details available and that CNN (can’t say for MSNBC) kept repeating the same information over and over again. Certainly important to keep everyone informed, but how many times can you say that there was a devastating 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, we don’t know all of the details but we will bring them to you as soon as we learn something new? It would be interesting to compare Haiti coverage on consecutive days. I know Hannity interviewed Governor Ed Rendell after the 54 Orphans landed in Pittsburgh…
It was hilarious to surf the MSM to view the election coverage. FoxNews was by far the most fair and balanced. The hosts and commentators in the MSM were in a complete state of shock, disgust and disbelief. For example, CNN had to keep switching over to more Haiti stories because apparently CNN could not stomach the election results. Larry King kept shaking his head in disgust and stumbling over his words; Wolf Blitzer was in shock; and David Gergen was in disbelief. As you may recall, it was Gergen who hosted the debate between Brown and Coakley and when Gergen “told” Brown that this was “Ted Kennedy’s seat”, Brown so eloquently responded by informing Gergen that “This is the PEOPLE’S seat!!!” It is so nice to see the MSM and ultr left take off their masks and expose themselves before the USA and the entire world as to who they really are and what they truly represent.
If the conservatives play their cards right, it will be very easy, yes – I repeat, very easy, to take back both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate in the upcoming mid-term elections in November.
Glen, I thank you and your entire team for all of your diligence. Please keep the people informed about the vital issues confronting the USA and the constant attacks that are being made on our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
How about some charts that show *minutes* of coverage rather than the “percentage of candidate speeches carried?” (But of course that would ruin the “lib’rul media” narrative, wouldn’t it?) Besdies, are the news networks really obligated to cover a 27 minute speech in which Scott Brown is soliciting dates for his daughters, bragging about driving a truck, inviting himself to the White House to play basketball, etc?
And yes, I think an earthquake that’s killed tens of thousands of people (and many more) merits more coverage than Sarah Palin’s every book signing.
Just one of the million reasons that I’m a FORMER Republican.

Instead, Sean Hannity is bashing Obama-care and celebrating Democratic infighting. You know, like every other night.
One by one, all the loyal Fox News viewers are going to realize that they’ve been medicating themselves with Murdoch’s rancid ideology for years, and get around to asking themselves, “What was I thinking???”
Could you tell me if there is much talk in Massecusetts about Barney frank and his involvement in the Mortgage crisis?
