Repeal, Replace, Reform
Karl Rove argues in his Wall Street Journal column this morning that “Repeal and Reform” will be a winning platform for Republicans this coming November. The Republican leadership in the House apparently agrees.
In a separate opinion piece also published this morning in the Des Moines Register, Republican Leader John Boehner (OH) promised the American People that Republicans will fight to repeal the Democrats health-care takeover.
A CBS Poll released yesterday shows that this is exactly what the American people want Congress to do. 62% of Americans want Republicans to continue to fight ObamaCare (66% of independents; 41% of Democrats; and 89% of Republicans). More here and here.
A recent Rasmussen poll (March 25, 2010) shows that 55% of the American people favor repealing ObamaCare, and 52% say they will vote for a candidate who promises repeal (only 41% say they will vote for a candidate who opposes repeal). 59% of seniors plan to vote for candidates who promise repeal.
Rep. Michele Bachmann is among several Republican lawmakers who have already introduced legislation that would overturn the Democrats government takeover of health care. Bachmann’s one page repeal bill can be viewed above.
