Video: On Sestak, Gibbs has nothing to add
This could/ should become a problem for President Obama and the Democrats. Did the Obama Administration pressure Joe Sestak to drop out of the Democrat primary in Pennsylvania by illegally offering him a job? According to the New York Times, “the White House is reassuring skeptics that it has examined its own actions and decided it did nothing wrong.”
Well, that’s good news isn’t it? If “the most transparent” administration in history said it did nothing wrong, than that should be good enough for all of us. Who needs details? Well, the 7 Republicans on the Senate Judiciary committee certainly want some, and have urged Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate what some are now calling “Jobgate.” Karl Rove breaks it down for us…
One of two things is true, you can’t have two things true. One or the other is true. Either Joe Sestak is lying and he was not offered a position in the administration in return for getting out of the primary.
You know he’s a liar, in which case not worthy of public service.
Or, he’s telling the truth, in which case somebody inside the White House committed a felony. 18usc211 says that, a government official cannot promise a job in return for anything of value and it has a long list of values.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) said that this scandal could be Obama’s Watergate.
Watch this exchange between Jake Tapper (ABC) and Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, which took place after Sestak beat Arlen Specter in the Democrat Primary.
