66% of all employer based healthcare plans may disappear
From The Daily Caller, “New Rules could make 66% of employer plans lose ‘Grandfathered’ status.”
These new rules were released by the Obama Administration on Monday, and will make between 39% and 66% of employer based plans lose their grandfathered status by 2013 according to estimates with the rules. This is expected to affect 51% of small businesses. In spite of these new findings, Kathleen Sebelius reiterated Obama’s debunked campaign promise at a press conference on Tuesday saying, “If you like the plan you have, you can keep it.” Of course special consideration is given to plans negotiated by unions.
In other Obamacare news (via Connie Hair), the first attempt to repeal this onerous law in the House, failed yesterday evening. 21 Democrats joined Republicans, while one Republican (Joseph Cao) joined Democrats. You can see the vote tally here.
