President Obama back on the Attack
Americans for Prosperity responds to President Obama’s attacks
Comments below the fold
By now, many of you have probably read or heard about President Obama’s recent verbal attack on Americans for Prosperity (AFP). You can listen to the comments here.
Tim Philips, President of AFP joined me on last weekend’s radio program to talk about this attack (click the play icon above to listen). In his ridiculous statement, Obama equated AFP’s 1.3 million activists with foreign controlled corporations, big oil companies, big banks, and health insurance companies. President Obama then blamed the U.S. Supreme Court for allowing groups like Americans for Prosperity to organize, and suggested that Congress needs to “fix it” so that these organizations can no longer contribute to the political process. Does President Obama believe in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution? It doesn’t sound like it.
Tim reminded us that AFP members are also tea party patriots and 9/12 activists. They are grass roots Americans who love this country, who believe in limited government and free market principles, and who oppose the political left’s radical agenda (including Obamacare and Cap and Trade). In other words, AFP activists are in the mainstream of America. No wonder President Obama’s approval rating hit another low (41%) last week in Gallup’s polling data.
Liberals and “progressives” on the political left are spending their time and energy demonizing conservatives; distorting our message of freedom, personal responsibility, and fairness; destroying our prosperity by employing failed Keynesian economics; and blaming former President Bush for all of our current problems. Meanwhile, Conservatives are educating others about the merits of limited government, lower taxes, and less government spending. We are winning the hearts and minds of the American people.
