This weekend, Glen talks about the failure of President Obama’s new health care law to allow people to keep their current medical coverage. Under the new regulations in Obamacare, businesses are no longer allowed to offer low cost “mini-med” plans to their employees. So the administration was forced to issue waivers for 30 different large companies (including the United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund) to protect approximately 1 million workers from losing their current healthcare plans.

Dr. Paul Kengor – Director of the Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College – joins Glen on the program to talk about his new book, Dupes, How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century. In his book, Paul outlines the fatal, misplaced trust that many “Progressives” have in the Marxist political agenda to create a utopian world. 60 million innocent people were murdered over the past century by the totalitarian Communist Regime in Russia, and the softer-styled socialism of Western Europe has completely failed to produce freedom, happiness, and prosperity. Nevertheless, many modern day “Progressives” (including President Obama) continue to push for a similar failed utopian agenda in the United States.

Brian Kapp – Chief Financial Analyst of Kapp/Scanlon Financial Group – joins Glen with some insights on this week’s bad economic headlines. According to Brian, we are on the cusp of a double-dip recession, and the investment markets should begin to reflect economic decline in the immediate future. As a result, Brian does not recommend a traditional buy and hold investment strategy.

Keith Rothfus – GOP Congressional Candidate (PA-4) – talks about the upcoming November elections, and his own race to unseat Incumbent Democrat Jason Altmire.

Glen will be speaking at a Tea Party sponsored by the Tea Party Patriots of Central PA on October 23. The event will take place between 10 and 11:30 AM on the steps of the Pennsylvania Capital building in Harrisburg. For more information, go to www.TeaPartyPatriotsCPA.com. Later that afternoon, the Commonwealth Foundation will host “A Celebration of Freedom,” with food, music, and games. To register or learn more about this event, visit www.livefreepa.org.

Glen is also chairing the Veterans Leadership Program “2010 Tribute to Veterans” on October 21st at the Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This event is a very special, non-partisan celebration of our military and our veterans. For more information, please visit www.vlpwpa.org.

Glen Meakem is a successful technology entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and conservative talk radio show host, who offers information and insights on how individuals and our nation can be more successful. Glen’s unique perspective has been shaped by his experiences as founder, chairman and CEO of the B2B internet success Freemarkets Inc – which he founded in 1995, took public in 1999, and sold to Ariba in 2004. In 2005, Glen co-founded Meakem Becker Venture Capital, a firm that invests in early stage start up companies. Concerned about the liberal political agenda that has gripped the United States and his home state of Pennsylvania, Glen launched the Glen Meakem Program in 2008. Glen served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve and is a veteran of the First Gulf War. He also earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his MBA from Harvard Business School. It seems to me that when you don’t like somebody you hate to see any good things the one does. It appears anybody who criticise the good policies meant to favour the majority is a republican or conversative. You have for centuries tried to come out with bad policies that always favours the minority. I wonder why you guys don’t blame bad governance of Pres George Bush. You must grow up because the world is watching you
